The Wildlife – Original Pastel Paintings of Rocky Mountain Wildlife
In the shadows of the Rocky Mountains, wildlife moves with a quiet strength — elk bugling at dawn, whitetail deer alert in the timber, a wolf watching and waiting. This collection of original pastel paintings captures the raw beauty of the West’s wild creatures as they live out their stories in the high country and open meadows.
Each painting is inspired by animals native to this region — drawn from trusted reference photos and shaped by a deep connection to the land. Using pastel pencils on archival Pastelbord, I layer in the fine details: the thick summer coat of a wolf, the sharp gaze of a mountain lion, the tension in a predator’s stance, the breath of a bull elk in late Fall.
These are personal, grounded portrayals of native wildlife — shaped by the land, the seasons, and a life lived in tune with nature. The Western spirit runs deep in these scenes, and each painting offers a piece of that untamed story.
All artworks are original and, unless otherwise marked, are available. If one speaks to your own time on the land — or a memory that still lingers — it’s ready to join your collection.
